Open rehearsal a great success

On Thursday 30th April, we had an ‘open rehearsal’ with the lovely ladies (and a few gents) at Handsworth Methodist Church. It’s the first time the band has done anything like this but hopefully we’ll be able to repeat it.

Graham Cook, our longest standing member, spoke about the band’s long history dating back o 1853 adn his family’s long association with the band right through to the present day. David , our conductor, on his birthday of all days, taught the audience (and some band members) about the instruments we play and Ed ‘s mum even had a go at the trombone!

We were treated to a lovely cup of tea and biscuits afterwards.
